If

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

life is going really well. we have been so happy. andd i am truly grateful for every single little blessing in my life. often i find myself focusing on the negative; bills, constantly running out of time, bills, money, bills, always being tired and did i say bills? haha. but really, life gets so much brighter when i stop and acknowledge the little things.

home sweet home

hello friends. i have been so busy. brad started school monday and he's already had loads of homework. i've been working as a dental assistant for the past month and it has been really good, but tiring. i think we are finally settling into our home and getting used to the sound of quiet. haha. last night brad's brother and his fiance came over and we watched a movie. they brough their new puppy and it was precious! all it wanted to do was sleep and cuddle :)
i used my crockpot today! i feel like such a housewife. haha, i have been doing laundry and cleaning all day! kati came over and brought me the cutest cups from urban. they were a wedding gift that she has been holding onto till we had a place to put them.
i never realized how much diet coke i drank till we moved out. i am constantly running out and dashing to the nearest walmart to buy some more. haha, obsession?

here's some pictures of our roomy home...

just breathe

Life is crazy.

Have you ever offered an opinion in order to help out a friend or family member and had it come back and bite you in the tush? cause i have and it doesn't feel really all that great. it hurts to have words thrown back in your face when all you were trying to do was offer a new perspective. personally, when I'm leaving my comfort zone to help out and individual i don't really want to look back and think "hey, maybe i shouldn't help them again because of what happened that last time". i guess it's better to bite your tongue and let people learn the hard way.

This week has been very hard. it's been a week where i could sit and focus on all the negative and stay sad and depressed. but for some reason i feel like focusing on the happy stuff...

      • For example, my wonderful sweet eternal companion! i miss him so much and i find my eyes watering as I'm typing this post. he has called me twice in the past twenty-four hours and i have been so grateful to hear his voice. i am anxiously awaiting his return on the 24th.

      • Also, i get to see my best friend emma in a few days, i will be accompanying her back to prescott on monday/tuesday! i cannot wait to get in some good quality time with my best sista friend.

      • LAST, i am sooo very grateful for my knowledge of my loving savior. i love knowing i am never alone and that he is always by my side, as long as i am living up to my part of the deal. i am so extremely grateful for prayer and the scriptures.

    "God has known you individually . . . for a long, long time (D&C93:23). He has loved you for a long, long time. He not only knows the names of all the stars (Psalm 147:4; Isaiah 40:26); He knows your names and all your heartaches and your joys! By the way, you have never seen an immortal star; they finally expire. But seated by you tonight are immortal individuals--imperfect but who are, nevertheless, 'trying to be like Jesus'!" (Neal A. Maxwell, "Remember How Merciful the Lord Hath Been," Ensign, May 2004, 46)

    life is crazy. but crazy isn't always a bad thing.
